Parental Participation
We value contact and cooperation with parents. We make individual agreements that suit the wishes and possibilities of both the teacher and the parents. There are two key moments in the year when we like to meet with you: in September and February.
In September, at the start of the new school year, you meet the new teacher(s) and can share information about your child. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other better and to make communication arrangements for the year.
In February, we discuss your child’s progress based on the first school report.
Parent App Parro
To keep parents well-informed throughout the year, we use the Parro parent app. In Parro, you regularly receive messages from the teacher about class activities. Additionally, the app contains practical information, the annual calendar, newsletters, parent-teacher consultation registration and absence notifications. This ensures parents are always well-informed about school activities.
Participation Council
Through the Participation Council – in Dutch Medezeggenschapsraad (MR) – parents and staff can think along and decide on school matters. Our MR consists of four parents and four staff members. The MR is actively involved with the school, reviews policies, advises the school and thinks about current issues. The MR operates according to a participation regulation and meets approximately every six weeks.
The meeting minutes are published and can be found here.
You can download the participation regulation here.
Brede School Rembrandt has a Joint Participation Council – in Dutch Gemeenschappelijke Medezeggenschapsraad (GMR). That includes team members and parents from the primary schools under Stichting Onderwijsgroep Amstelland.
If you have any questions or matters to bring to the MR’s attention, you can email: mr.rembrandt@ogamstelland.nl.
Parent Council
Parental assistance is indispensable at school. Many activities outside regular education, such as school trips, Sinterklaas celebrations, Christmas and Easter events, creative activities, cultural projects and sports days, could not take place without their help. Therefore, our school has a Parent Council – in Dutch Ouderraad (OR) – that helps the school team organise various activities. The OR consists of a group of enthusiastic parents.
To finance these activities, we ask parents for an annual voluntary contribution contribution of €65 per child per school year. All children at our school are welcome to participate in our activities.
Parental assistance is essential for organising and supervising these activities. If you would like to contribute or have questions for the OR, you can email: ocbsrembrandt@gmail.com.
